Kim Goldsworthy Posted July 18, 2010 at 08:18 PM Report Share Posted July 18, 2010 at 08:18 PM Is there a limit on how many times a motion can be presented?Well, if the result differs, then "yes."That is:• If adopted, then the buck stops there.• If rejected, then the limit is, "Once per session (i.e., per order of business)."That is, in a single meeting, you cannot present the identical motion at 8:00 pm, again at 8:14 pm, again at 8:31 pm, again at 8:51 pm, etc. - You get one bite at the apple, for a single meeting, you know. - Exception: see the motion, Reconsider. As long a new "session" (a new "order of business") controls the next meeting, then the rejected motion can be renewed, (e.g., every month, for a monthly-meeting organization) forever, until adopted.
