Identifying the maker of a motion

I belong to a small committee of 8 looking at revising ordinances. At the last meeting a motion was made and seconded to elect a new chairman of the group. Since the current chairman was absent, a motion was made, seconded and passed to table the item until the next meeting when the current chairman would be present. In the minutes of this meeting, is it required to identify who made the motion to elect a new chairman and who seconded it?

The maker, yes; the seconder, no.

(Though committees don't usually prepare formal minutes.)
