election of board officers

After the nominating commitee has accepted applications and has selected the slate of officers for election in Oct, is it possible for members to petition and get on the slate as well. Can this be done without first applying to the nominating committee and getting turned down?

No petition is required under RONR. The member may simply be nominated from the floor at the election meeting, after the nominating committee has made its report. This is the case whether or not a member has previously sought endorsement from the nominating committee.

Also, for future reference, threads relating to parliamentary procedure should be posted in the "General Discussion" forum. This forum is typically used for discussion of the boards themselves.
