If a motion was postponed (not tabled) until the next meeting, the motion automatically comes up under Unfinished Business (not Old Business).

The motion to Lay on the Table is used to set a motion aside temporarily so that a more pressing matter may be addressed. It is frequently misused. (See FAQ #12) It is possible, however, that a motion may remain on the table until the next session, provided it is within a quarterly interval. In such a case, a motion to Take from the Table must be made to address the motion.
