Guest Daniel Posted August 20, 2010 at 06:57 PM Report Share Posted August 20, 2010 at 06:57 PM So I'm wondering, which is the standard way of doing an initial votes when a motion for division of the house hasn't been called for? It seems like a show of hands would be a little more accurate, since a voice vote depends heavily on how loud each individual member is.Thanks in advance. J. J. Posted August 20, 2010 at 09:00 PM Report Share Posted August 20, 2010 at 09:00 PM Just the number of votes on each side is recorded. If counted. On a Division of the Assembly, which may be demanded by one member, the only requirement is that the vote be taken by a standing vote. A further motion is needed to count the vote (p. 272).
