The position has one year left in position.If the board has the authority to fill the vacancy, no, the election may not be rescinded (at least, not just because you didn't like the board's decision). Rescinding an election is permitted only as a disciplinary action, and even then, whether it is possible depends on the exact wording of the term of office in your Bylaws.If the board does not have the authority to fill the vacancy, the motion to rescind would not be the proper tool.
