Without notice you'll need a two-thirds vote or the affirmative vote of a majority of the (entire) membership.

George Mervosh Posted September 14, 2010 at 05:24 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2010 at 05:24 PM If a motion was rescinded without previous notice how does a group fix it?It doesn't since the motion does not require previous notice, unless we're talking bylaw changes here. At the next monthly meeting a member from the minorty side made a motion to rescind the motion that was adopted wich was then passed by a majority vote. This doesn't need a previous notice? George Mervosh Posted September 14, 2010 at 05:38 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2010 at 05:38 PM No, and if it was adopted by the wrong vote (which it looks like it was), it's too late to do anything about it.

This doesn't need a previous notice? No.It doesn't need previous notice. It's nice, it's convenient. But not "necessary."• With previous notice, the vote threshold is easy to achieve.• Without previous notice, the vote threshold is harder to achieve. But you've got two shots (two kinds of vote thresholds) available to you, still.
