rescind; amend something previously adopted

It doesn't since the motion does not require previous notice, unless we're talking bylaw changes here.

I'm not sure on this we had a motion to support a grievance that passed by majority vote. At the next monthly meeting a member from the minorty side made a motion to rescind the motion that was adopted wich was then passed by a majority vote. This doesn't need a previous notice?

No.

It doesn't need previous notice.

It's nice, it's convenient. But not "necessary."

• With previous notice, the vote threshold is easy to achieve.

• Without previous notice, the vote threshold is harder to achieve.

But you've got two shots (two kinds of vote thresholds) available to you, still.
