Larry Cisar Posted September 15, 2010 at 07:17 AM Report Share Posted September 15, 2010 at 07:17 AM Yes, unless the bylaws say that it is automatically accepted. It can be withdrawn up until the time the appropriate body accepts the resignation.
Josh Martin Posted September 15, 2010 at 07:19 AM Report Share Posted September 15, 2010 at 07:19 AM Can a letter of resignation be withdrawn from an elected officer? If so, under what circumstances? Before the question has been stated on accepting the resignation, the resignation may be withdrawn under any circumstances. After the question has been stated but before the resignation has been accepted, it may be withdrawn only with the assembly's permission. After the resignation is accepted, it may not be withdrawn under any circumstances.

Guest jm Posted September 15, 2010 at 10:43 AM Report Share Posted September 15, 2010 at 10:43 AM As a continuation of this question, if one's constitution only refers to Robert's Rules under the article entitled 'Meetings' and states "Except as otherwise provided in this Constitution and Bylaws, the latest edition of Robert’s Rules of Order currently entitled Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised shall apply at all meetings of this Union." do you believe your opinion about withdrawing a written resignation would still be applicable?Thank you in advance.
