Guest Motion Maker Posted September 29, 2010 at 12:27 AM Report Share Posted September 29, 2010 at 12:27 AM A motion was presented in writing to the moderator and each individual member present. The moderator read the motion and changed one word, which changed the meaning of the motion. It was not caught by the maker of the motion, nor any member. It was subsequently voted on and approved by the body. Which motion takes precedence, the written motion or the spoken motion?
hmtcastle Posted September 29, 2010 at 12:30 AM Report Share Posted September 29, 2010 at 12:30 AM Which motion takes precedence, the written motion or the spoken motion? The spoken motion. But it might not be too late to amend (change) the adopted motion into the motion that was intended.
