Guest Kathryn Posted September 30, 2010 at 02:57 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2010 at 02:57 PM Once Constitution Changes are presented and passed at an AGM, do they take effect immediately. For example Fiscal Year is Jan-Jan and AGM is in February. Do we need to wait until the following January for the changes to take effect or do they come into effect immediately ? David A Foulkes Posted September 30, 2010 at 04:05 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2010 at 04:05 PM There might also be, though perhaps an outside chance, that something in the Constitution dictates when changes to it take effect. Often in bylaws, the amendment provision will stipulate that any changes to the bylaws take effect at the adjournment of the meeting at which they are adopted. I know, that's as good as "effective immediately", but in case there's some sort of "buyer's remorse" clause in the Constitution, it might be worth a quick look.
