Guest Michael DeHart Posted September 30, 2010 at 06:36 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2010 at 06:36 PM Our by-laws state that during an election a tie vote between candidates will be broken by drawing lots. We're not clear on what this means. Any help?

hmtcastle Posted September 30, 2010 at 06:41 PM Report Share Posted September 30, 2010 at 06:41 PM Our by-laws state that during an election a tie vote between candidates will be broken by drawing lots. We're not clear on what this means. Any help?I'm afraid you'll have to figure out what your bylaws mean. Perhaps you could ask the people that wrote/adopted them. You can also Google "drawing lots". Or you can just put the name of each candidate on a piece of paper, put the papers in a hat, and pull one out of the hat.

We're not clear on what this means. Any help? From dictionary.com: "making a chance decision by using lots (straws or pebbles etc.) that are thrown or drawn"I suppose your assembly will have to decide on the specifics.
