Guest Smith Posted October 7, 2010 at 11:00 PM Report Share Posted October 7, 2010 at 11:00 PM Our bylaws state that any amendments to the bylaws must be tabled at one meeting, with the vote on adoption to be held at a subsequent meeting. We are currently rewriting the bylaws as a whole, and the new document has been presented to the group and tabled. If at its next meeting, the group in its discussions decides to alter the new document before taking the adoption vote, does that change need to be tabled again, thus postponing the vote on the document as a whole? Or may we vote on changes to the new bylaws and pass the amended document in a single meeting?

RONR requires no such "tabling" and, besides, that's not what tabling means in the first place. See FAQ #12.
