Should the person that was nominated be allowed to accept at a later time..Per RONR, you do not need to be present to be nominated, although it is a courtesy to let the assembly know in advance you will not serve if elected if you suspect you will be nominated. If elected nonetheless, and still not present at the election, you have the option to decline when notified. Of course, if your bylaws have anything to say about all this, RONR yields.
