David A Foulkes Posted October 13, 2010 at 06:44 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 at 06:44 PM Also, assuming your elections are still ahead, this person could be nominated from the floor when the chair calls for such nominations.
tbussche Posted October 13, 2010 at 06:54 PM Author Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 at 06:54 PM Our nominations were two days ago, the chair called for nominations from the floor and there was none and our election will be next month for all offices. We have no meetings scheduled before the election. Our by-laws do not allow write-ins because of "Mickey Mouse" write-ins.Tbussche

Our by-laws do not allow write-ins because of "Mickey Mouse" write-ins.That bylaws of yours was a Bad Move. Why was it a "bad move"? Because it prevents you from writing in the name of a volunteer who stepped forward after your last opportunity to call out nominations from the floor. You've been "hoist with your own petard." Bruce Lages Posted October 13, 2010 at 07:50 PM Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 at 07:50 PM Nothing the original poster has written suggests that nominations can't be re-opened at the next meeting prior to the election.
