Kim Goldsworthy Posted October 14, 2010 at 05:48 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 at 05:48 PM If the governing board has agreed to entertain charges brought against a member, does the accused member immediatly lose member privileges or are they reatained until the hearing and ruling has been bought? The rights of the targeted member only remain intact until written notification is sent to the targeted member.See RONR page 637:Whichever form of letter is sent to the accused as de-scribed above, the secretary should have at hand at the triala photo-copy, printout, or other direct reproduction of it with the return receipt attached, as proof that the accusedwas informed of the charges against him. In any event, fromthe time the accused has been thus notified, all of his rightsas a member of the society (except as relate to the trial) aresuspended pending disposition of the case. Tim Wynn Posted October 17, 2010 at 12:27 AM Report Share Posted October 17, 2010 at 12:27 AM If the governing board has agreed to entertain charges brought against a member, This is not the way it should be done. You're missing the investigating committee. See RONR(10th ed.), p. 632, l. 34 - p. 633, l. 5. Everyone forgets the investigating committee. does the accused member immediatly lose member privileges or are they reatained until the hearing and ruling has been bought?See RONR(10th ed.) p. 637 l. 32-35.
