What is the responsibility of the president of a non profit organization as far as informing the Board of Directors AND the Membership on the status of legal action taken against the Membership and the Board Board of Directors when the Board and the Membership is asking for information?

What is the responsibility of the president ...

as far as informing the Board of Directors AND the Membership

on the status of legal action

taken against the Membership and the Board Board of Directors

when the Board and the Membership is asking for information?

None.

It isn't the job of the president to do such a thing.

I would think that the BOARD (not any individual) would include, in its REPORT, whatever data is safe to release.

(An ongoing law suit has very little un-secured data, you know. Thus, in most cases, there won't be anything which your legal counsel would have agreed to allow a president to blurt out in the open.)

Ask your lawyer what your status is. He should know.
