Guest John Opsitnik Posted October 26, 2010 at 06:13 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2010 at 06:13 PM I am involved with a 62 member club that is supposed to have the yearly nomination and election of officers to the board for year 2011 next Tuesday. Two out of four of the board members are up for election(President and Vice President) at this meeting , but the meeting has been re scheduled without notifying the existing Vice President, because the existing President and Secretary can not be present. The question is " Can the Vice President and Treasurer rule on all matters at this meeting with a majority of members present and have a legal meeting and election of officers?", or does the meeting have to be re scheduled as it has been? Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
George Mervosh Posted October 26, 2010 at 06:17 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2010 at 06:17 PM Nothing in RONR allows them to reschedule it like that.......so show up, the VP would preside, and you'll have to elect someone to take minutes. As long as there is a quorum present you're good to go.

As long as there is a quorum present you're good to go.And no other officer (e.g. the treasurer) or board member has any special status.
