Postponing an election in an emergency

A recent fire in my club will close it for 2-3 months. Our election of officers is to take place in November which will replace the President, treasurer and 3 board members, none of whom are running again. We want to postpone elction of new officers for 2 months so the current officers can see the club through this crisis. Is this allowed and where can I find reference in roberts rules?

When the election is pending, it may be postponed to the next meeting, assuming it is within a quarterly time interval. If you meet monthly you would need to postpone it a second time so you can acheive your 2 month goal. RONR, p. 172ff

You would NOT want to do this unless the term of your officers is the same as is shown on p.556, line 35 to p. 557, line 4. See lines 4-7 on p. 557 for why that is.
