Chair's authority to cancel meetings

Hi all;

I am an officer of a municipal political party committee. We hold monthly business meetings on the same day, time and location with a relatively standard agenda.

Does the Chair have the authority to arbitrarily cancel a regularly scheduled meeting that has been agreed upon by the members after members were provided legal notice reminding them of the meeting. Must the Chair consult with either the committee members or executive committee members? The committee by-laws do not articulate that the chair has the authority to cancel regularly scheduled meetings.

thanks

There is no procedure in RONR for cancelling a meeting. By anyone. If the chair doesn't show up, carry on without him.

RONR doesn't give anyone the authority to cancel a meeting. Hold the meeting.
