Guest ann moss Posted December 1, 2010 at 10:32 PM Report Share Posted December 1, 2010 at 10:32 PM Our club just amended by-laws last year. There is nothing in the by-laws stating how often they can be amended, but someone said only once in 5 years. Is this in RR's?

When ever "someone" says something, ask them to show you where it says that. You can amend your bylaws at every meeting, as long as you follow the rules for their amendment. David A Foulkes Posted December 1, 2010 at 10:36 PM Report Share Posted December 1, 2010 at 10:36 PM If the bylaws contain no procedure for amendment (and they really really should!), they can be amended at any business meeting by a 2/3 vote IF previous notice has been given, or by a vote of the majority of the entire membership. See page 562 for more on this, and page 116 for more on requirements of notice.
