Guest Sue Posted December 7, 2010 at 07:13 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2010 at 07:13 PM Is it necessary to notify the members that there is no opposition to board positions members are running for? Can write in candidates be nominated up to the day of elections by members?
jstackpo Posted December 7, 2010 at 07:35 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2010 at 07:35 PM No, not necessary. "Write-ins" are, in effect, not formally nominated at all. The names are just written in on the ballot at the whim of the voter.Nominations made (per whatever your rules may be) prior to election day should, if possible, be included on a printed ballot, which has blank lines for write-ins, too.
