Prior Notice of special meeting

On our ballot this year are three proposed by-law amendments. The ballots were posted 31 days before the deadline for casting ballots. An open meeting was held 30 days before the ballot deadline to present pros and cons of each proposal. An election schedule had been posted two months earlier, listing that special meeting, and a newsletter was mailed to each member two weeks prior to the meeting, informing everyone there were amendments being offered and discussion would take place at the special meeting. Is this legal notice for proposed amendments to the by-laws, if our own by-laws do not require 30 days notice of the special meeting?

If your bylaws authorize special meetings (which they must or you can't have them) but they don't specify how much notice is required (a glaring omission), all RONR would have to say is that the notice must be "reasonable". And, of course, what's reasonable to one might not be reasonable to another.

Further, I would not conflate election requirements with the notice required for a special meeting. You'll also need to determine how much notice, if any, is required for amending your bylaws.

So it looks like you've got at least three things going on: a special meeting, an election, and bylaw amendments.
