call for a re vote on a passed motion

a mtion fhat required notice to all members by newsletter was sent to all members announcing that a vote would be taken at the next monthly meeting .AT the meeting a vote on the motion was called for by the chair znd passed .a member asked the chair for a re vote because three members were not in the meeting room to vote . the chair called the three members into the meeting room a granted another vote .The motion was then defeated . Was this a legal vote ?

Well, the procedure you went through was highly improper.

However, since no one made a point of order that there were improper things going on at the time of the infractions of the rules, the second vote, defeating the motion, stands.

You, or anybody else, is free to make the same motion again at the next meeting. Better luck next time!

Was the motion declared adopted or where you still technically voting when the three came into the room?
