Guest dd166 Posted December 12, 2010 at 07:31 PM Report Share Posted December 12, 2010 at 07:31 PM A board member has resigned and would like to have a letter she authored read at the board meeting. There is nothing controversial or offensive in the letter, but it is quite lengthy. Is there a procedure covered by RR's that addresses this? Is there a procedure covered by RR's that addresses this? It's up to the assembly (the board members present) to permit (or not) the letter to be read.Keep in mind that reading the letter won't necessarily result in its being included in the minutes (it shouldn't be). Read or not, the letter should simply be filed away.

See RONR pp. 286-287.Well, just to clarify what might seem to be an imperative, permission may or may not be granted by the assembly for the letter to be read.
