Chris Harrison Posted December 30, 2010 at 10:55 PM Report Share Posted December 30, 2010 at 10:55 PM I attended a board mtg for a non profit and observed that the president did not vote. Is this common? If the Board has less than about a dozen members present subject to any rule or custom the President can vote with the rest of the members (RONR p. 470). If there are more than a dozen members present the normal rules apply where the President shouldn't vote with a few exceptions.

Tim Wynn Posted December 31, 2010 at 12:11 AM Report Share Posted December 31, 2010 at 12:11 AM I attended a board mtg for a non profit and observed that the president did not vote. Is this common? You'll often do better asking if it's in accordance with the rules. Far too frequently, mistakes are common.
