Guest Nancy Eitner Posted January 8, 2011 at 02:37 PM Report Share Posted January 8, 2011 at 02:37 PM I own a home in a sub division in Georgia. The HOA does not abide by any meeting protocol. For example, they do not have an opening roll call. They have topic discussions whereby the homeowner is asked to leave. To date, I can not get a copy of the minutes. I attended a meeting and I asked if they follow Robert's Rules and they said that "they try." Are these meetings legal?

RONR doesn't require a opening roll call. You will have to look to the bylaws to see what rights you as a homeowner have at these meetings. hmtcastle Posted January 8, 2011 at 02:54 PM Report Share Posted January 8, 2011 at 02:54 PM Are these meetings legal?Make sure you're not confusing a meeting of the board with a meeting of the association. If it's a board meeting, and you're not a board member, you have no parliamentary rights (e.g. the right to attend, the right to view the minutes, etc.).Further, there is no requirement in RONR for a roll call.
