rescind a motion process

A resolution was passed in October and was part of the minutes of that month. At the December board meeting, someone who was not at the meeting in October made a motion to create a policy on the same issue that was taken care of in October. Our president was not at the December meeting because if she was, she would have known right away that the issue had already been dealt with in October with the creation of the resolution. Obviously this proves what she has been trying to tell us for many months that we need to pay attention to the minutes, what we approve and she cannot be the sole person who knows motions, resolutions, etc.

Here's the question: at this month's meeting, can we/how do we rescind the December motion? I'm embarrassed to say that the president is the one who read the draft minutes and in a very nice way "went through the roof" reading that the same issue was discussed that was already part of a resolution--there were 7 of us who should have known that and we need to fix this and show the president that she has a board that will step up to the plate.

THANK YOU for your help on this matter.

If the motion conflicts with the motion adopted in October, raise a Point of Order that the motion is null and void. It appears the President will rule the point well taken, so that will settle the issue.

So, a point of order will be raised and then it will be documented in the January minutes that the motion from December is null and void?

Assuming that is the way the chair rules on the matter, yes. The chair's reasoning for the ruling should also be included (that it conflicts with a motion previously adopted by the assembly and still in force).
