Guest jeanie Posted January 14, 2011 at 12:02 PM Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 at 12:02 PM We have 5 executive officers who 'move up' the chairs each year; therefore, we only need to elect one person - the vice president - at our annual meeting. Our nominating committee consists of 5 past presidents, and it meets prior to the meeting to interview and select candidate(s). Our bylaws don't mention the # of candidates they must or should select. Is it typical for the nominating committee to offer just one candidate during elections and have any others come from the floor? Or can the nominating committee offer multiple candidates to the body for election?
David A Foulkes Posted January 14, 2011 at 12:33 PM Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 at 12:33 PM "Although it is not common for the nominating committee to nominate more than one candidate for any office, the committee can do so unless the bylaws prohibit it."
