Guest Jacquie Posted January 25, 2011 at 05:14 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 at 05:14 PM I am a member of an association and volunteer. I have an issue that has been put on the agenda for the next meeting and have been invited to join the meeting by the President. The Vice President got mad and told the President he had to uninvite me. Do I have any rights to be at the meeting seeing I am already on the agenda? hmtcastle Posted January 25, 2011 at 05:18 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 at 05:18 PM Do I have any rights to be at the meeting seeing I am already on the agenda? No. Only members of the board have the right to attend board meetings. However the board (not any one member, including the president) could permit you to attend and even speak. The proposed agenda is irrelevant. See FAQ #14. jstackpo Posted January 25, 2011 at 05:20 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 at 05:20 PM No, no right to attend, on the agenda or not. However, the V-P can't "unfriend" you all by himself any more than the president can invite you all by himself either.Whether you can go, and stay, is up to the board members inviting you by a majority vote. Or not.
