Guest Frank Posted May 4, 2017 at 12:49 PM Report Share Posted May 4, 2017 at 12:49 PM If a "call the question" motion is improperly handled, as in debate was ended without a vote on the "call the question" motion, is the subsequent vote on the motion on which the question was called invalid? At our meeting the motion to approve a resolution was approved by a vote after debate was ended without the "call the question" motion having been handled correctly. Now one board member is claiming the approval vote was invalid. Is he correct? This error has been committed several times over the past year or so, and the subsequent votes have been allowed to stand unchallenged; if the current issue is determined to be invalid, will all such situations have to be revisited by the board? Resubmitted with correct title.

A point of order concerning such a breach of the rules must be raised promptly at the time the breach occurs. Resubmitted under correct title.
