Since these are the "minimum essential officers," it logically follows that all other officers are not essential.

Thank you. Is there a page I need to refer to where it says this?

We are making amendments to our bylaws and since we have not had nor utilized the sergeant at arms, historian or parliamentarian for many years, we would like to remove these from our bylaws entirely. Is there a requirement in Robert's rules to have any of these positions, or are they optional?

He is on the nomination list, but mostly because we assumed he had to be because of the possibility of him being Chairman after he exits his current role. Hope that makes sense.
