Guest J M Posted April 11, 2011 at 08:32 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 08:32 PM Our not for profit org Secretary sent Semi Annual general body meeting notice. One of the agenda items is Amendments to Bylaws Proposed by the members. These Proposals need X% signatures of voting right members. But there are no enough signatures. It is a mistake not to verify the number. What do we do at General Body meeting? do we need to still discuss the agenda item?ThanksJM
Robert B Fish Posted April 11, 2011 at 09:46 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 09:46 PM The item might be dropped if you let the chairman know the signature requirements were not met. If the item is brought forward anyhow, immediately make a point of order that the signature requirements were not met. The chairman will rule on your point of order. You may appeal the ruling if you do not agree with the chairman.-Bob
