Guest Megan Posted April 21, 2020 at 10:38 PM Report Share Posted April 21, 2020 at 10:38 PM A Planning Commission meeting. They have had discussion and made a motion and voted on a zoning request. there is no other business on the agenda. However, before adjourning the meeting (this is an electronic meeting) the chairman engages in discussion about the preliminary plat (not an agenda item that evening). Thoughts on this? Should it be considered "Old Business"? Is it inappropriate to have discussion on a topic related to an agenda item (AFTER that agenda item has been voted on) or?? Just some confusion on my part. Also, this discussion is part of the meeting recording, but would you put it in the minutes? Thanks!!
Atul Kapur Posted April 21, 2020 at 10:57 PM Report Share Posted April 21, 2020 at 10:57 PM If no business was conducted, just discussion, then it doesn't need to be included in the minutes. The rule is that the minutes capture what was done, not what was said. Your planning commission may not be used to that standard.
