Guest Larry Posted January 11, 2018 at 02:39 AM Report Share Posted January 11, 2018 at 02:39 AM What would be the proper step by step procedure to reopen a collective bargaining agreement (union contract) so the membership can vote on a specific topic that can't wait 15 months for current agreement to expire and/or be renegotiated? It technically would be a motion to Amend Something Previously Adopted. It requires a majority vote, with notice, a 2/3 vote, or a majority of the entire membership. I would, however, suggest that you speak with your group's attorney about the advisability of trying to change a contract. That is a legal matter, not a parliamentary one.
