Guest Marge Posted June 10, 2010 at 03:06 PM Report Share Posted June 10, 2010 at 03:06 PM Our Association consists of members of an adult community. The swimming pool is owned and taken care of by the Management Group. Several years ago the BOD, at that time, set up rules to be observed while in the pool area. These were approved by the membership and Management. However, now the question has come up about "food in the pool area" which is in the current rules. Some members are planning a pool party where there will be food in that area. There are members who would like to see that rule [no food etc.] changed. Can that be done-- if so how is it handled? Our by-laws state RONR should be followed. Thank you

See Official Interpretation 2006-13.

It would require a majority vote with previous notice, a 2/3 vote, or a majority of the entire membership. The Board could adopt this motion or, if you have meetings of members, the membership could do it.
