Karleman's Achievements

  1. We are an organization, that has been operating very 'loosly' to say the best. Most are old timers and not very open to change. Those old timers and their families also have been running the organization more less in an 'enforcement based on friendship' world and disregard any rule they don't like. We heard rumblings over the past that a former President, now VP is very abusive, condescending to woman. I was asked by the powers to be to look into a different issue. During this process I uncovered very upsetting emails, going from personal attack to not vulgar but very rude comments. His behavior is narcissistic. Is there anything in RR that I can use so that person can be called to order, or do these women have to go the legal way. No one wants to start controversy and/or create a bigger divide. Divide exists as to the new ones and the generational ones already. How can I help those women, who stick and volunteer?
  2. The bylaws are very, very vague - it lists 5 officers and their function and then a number of trustees not to exceed but not their functions. Every 'sub club' however has requirements spelled out and a separate 'charter' . it is extremely loose
  3. Question do you notify your members at the beginning of the membership years of the dates of the election or is the 10 day notice the notice to membership?
  4. Thank you - the board never put anything in writing so what happens if a member comes, the board would have to vote if allowed or not?
  5. Bruce agree on the second one, seems like a bit personal hurt. On the lateness - one more question K, you say 10 day notice, 9 hour late. Has that happened before? Assuming it has as your President that got voted out (right) and the BOT didn't bring it up as issue prior to election, if so how was it handled or is it an issue because someone didn't get their way (sorry to be frank). I would base my answer a on the old actions, one wrong does not right another though. Either way I would conduct a investigation to determine why and consult a larger group of membership if the 9 hours were the only hours they could have seen the notification.
  6. so are there two issues? One that it was 9 hours late and that the petition asks for the entire election to be redone, Is the second issue that a member of the board nominated someone for a position that was forgotten to be on the ballot or that it was for a non existing position and he made it up?
  7. Our organization has a Board, which manages the day-to-day aspects of our community. We have scheduled membership meetings for the community. Our constitution spells out clubs and membership meetings but does not mention the random Board meetings. Those are held at a not defined interval/as business arises or as scheduled by President. Can members attend those meetings since there is no reference about those meetings in constitution and since the meetings referenced do not exclude meeting minutes from any meetings can membership request meeting minutes?
