I am a member of an organization that uses Roberts Rules of Order. I'd like to know if our voting procedure is correct.
We have clubs and each club has votes based on every ten members = 1 vote. Each voting club accredited has one flash card that represents that clubs votes, so my club has one card that represents 5 votes cause we have 55 members. We just voted on an issue and we raised a flash card to vote for or against, the chair looked out over the membership saw more yes cards than no's and passed the item. This seems strange in that my card raised was suppose to represent 5 votes and others represented on one vote? So although there were more cards visible in quantity for yes, if you had counted the number of votes per card it may not have passed.
