  1. Good Evening All. A few questions come up today from my Bylaw Committee Chair and I am having trouble finding the answer. I am sure someone can help. If at the beginning of a meeting there is a quorum to start the meeting and throughout the meeting, members begin to disappear. Then there are motions made and there is no quorum to vote. Motions are tabled and meeting goes into recess until the next evening when the meeting reconvenes with the annual dinner and we know there will be a quorum. Can the meeting reconvene to bring up the tabled motions, then go back into recess until after the dinner and then reconvene. One of the individuals on the Bylaws Committee is telling the Chair this is how another one of her clubs does it. I need help. Gene McDonald
  2. Thanks Josh. The individual in question is a member of the club but not the Board. The request was to cancel a large yearly event in the location it is to happen due to reports of it being a high crime city. We took the concerns to the city and these would be the responses. I believe the executive session may have happened to stop info on a possible cancellation leaking out.
  3. Our club just come out of an executive session concerning and email from a member. We collected information from the mayor and other agencies of the city concerned. Are we allowed to send the letters from the city to the individual who we received the original email from. At this point I even wonder if an executive session was required.
  4. I am a member of a non-profit social club, whose Board meets twice a year and we only have a members meeting once a year. All business throughout the year is done by email. At each face-to-face Board meeting a motion is made that reads, " I move that all resolutions of the Board of Directors adopted by email vote and all actions taken in relation hereto and hereby are approved and ratified". As President Elect, I have been questioned by a member as to the correctness of this. So I am reaching out to the experts.
