  1. My organization has a hard time stating motions. So our president will state the motions exactly how it should be, and I will say, "So moved," so that the motion will be correct on the record as she stated. Then we will second, etc. There was a dispute at our last meeting after taking 10 minutes to state the correct motion. I ask the president to word it properly for the record and stated "So moved," for which I as told it was not acceptable. Their explanation was the president cannot make a motion. According to Robert's Rules, she can if it is a small group, but she cannot if a large group. In this case, she would not be making the motion, but providing the correct words for the motion for record for which I would use "so moved" to say in essence my motion is what she said. In my government commissions meetings, we use "so moved" quite often with the motions to ensure we have the correct wording for the motion for record and to keep the meeting moving. What say you as the correct way to use "So moved." Thanks in advance.
