  1. Gary, it is One of the exec committee, who is arguably making the process difficult and very much about them, The rest of the exec committee has been working to peacefully resolve the issue, while the 'one' making it challenging and throwing curve balls and engaging in selective adherence to by laws. This meeting is not for the general public to attend due to its sensitive nature. They are doing all they can to safe face for all involved. Also the One, has specifically invited and included sympathetic community members to the board email chain for the discussion. I hope that makes some sense.
  2. At a Non Profit: It has been proposed, for an upcoming very sensitive Exec. Committee Meeting "inviting other Board members and possibly non-Board members to attend meeting as observers." It is also suggested that "notes can be taken and what happens can be discussed outside of the meeting." Just checking with anyone who may know. Is this allowed? Legal? Ok? No it is NOT in our bylaws, In text anywhere or suggestion prior to this latest statement of any kind. It is very unprecedented based on prior board culture. NOTE: this is not considered an executive session. Thanks
  3. We have had a few meetings addressing the situation and board retreat, presently there has been improvement, Thanks J
  4. Ok Thanks we are certainly dealing with some issues here, that borderline on abusive behavior in small meetings with other members and he said she said role play by the chair. Among other concerns. It is my intention to discuss with our executive board what they plan to do moving forward, albeit at least one exec. board member was concerned about backlash and facing said chair, another was not up to speed on the bylaws and proper procedure and the third is the one who implementing the board retreat next week. This board has a long history of being dysfunctional with a long history of people leaving after arguments in board meetings, voices raised and disagreements left unsettled. I am hopeful to bring peace into the room and just participate with a group of well mannered people with a common goal. I have no designs of being anything more than a board member, my schedule wont allow for more than I do. Thank you Jimmy
  5. OK not sure.. anyway, we have a chair who often pushes their agenda aggressively, enforces his will on weaker members and 9 times out of 10 votes opposite the board and makes assertions after he is voted against. Many times he is wrong, but my concern as stated is the chair suppose to be impartial. Of course I have other concerns regarding the behavior, but those are also being addressed. Thanks
