Must it be put in writing? Does the Vice President take over as President? or just acting President?? What is the correct way this should be done? Josh Martin Posted February 8, 2011 at 05:28 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 at 05:28 PM What is the procedure if the President would like to take a 3 month leave of absence? There is no procedure.Must it be put in writing? No.Does the Vice President take over as President? or just acting President??The Vice President remains Vice President. He does not become President (acting or otherwise). He will take over as presiding officer in the President's absence, but he does not take on any other authority of the President unless your Bylaws state otherwise. What is the correct way this should be done? There is really nothing to do. The VP simply presides in the President's absence.
