sammy Posted March 29, 2011 at 06:59 PM Report Share Posted March 29, 2011 at 06:59 PM Can a secretay tape a meeting, if so should the assembly be told in advance that this is being done?At a recent mmeting we were about 15 minutes into a meeting before we know that it was being taped, if a question had not been asked of the secretary, in which she let it slip that the mmeting was being taped. Our bylaws do not cover anything about taping a meeting. Robert B Fish Posted March 29, 2011 at 07:05 PM Report Share Posted March 29, 2011 at 07:05 PM Your assembly can (and probably shold) adopt rules about whether the secretary should tape the meeting or take notes. This should be adopted by passing a motion, not by amending your bylaws. However, teh minutes should only contain a record of what was done at the meeting and not what was said by the members. -Bob
