Rescinding of By-laws that are in conflict with Law

I am a member of a Volunteer fire department that states in the By-laws htat we must follow the laws of the state. We have a couple of By-laws that have not been changed in years and are now in conflict with the state law. My question is, how can we get rid of these By-laws. Must we go about the same process to amend them or can the governing body of the FD vote to rescind them or are they already not a part of the By-laws due to the rule of following state law?

You should amend the bylaws to remove them but, until you do, they are superseded by the state laws with which they conflict.
