Guest Ken Southerland Posted May 31, 2011 at 07:14 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 at 07:14 PM At our annual elections a new commander was elected. As a result, a vacancy on our Board of Trustees was created because one person can't hold two seats (the commander automatically holds a seat, and in addition to others, we have 3 at-large members of the Board of Trustees. The new commander was in one of these 3 at-large seats, and still had 2 years left in that term). We hold nominations in March and April, with a last round of nominations and elections in May.Do we have to follow that three month procedure to fill the vacant seat, or what would the process be? If you find such a provision, it must be followed. If there are no such provisions, see RONR(10th ed.), p. 279, l. 21-30.
