acthomas Posted July 1, 2011 at 11:47 PM Report Share Posted July 1, 2011 at 11:47 PM Someone told me that there will be a new edition of the Rules of Order coming out this fall, ergo, someone who needs to buy a copy should wait. That's the first I've heard of this. Is it true?

Guest Nancy N. Posted July 2, 2011 at 04:05 AM Report Share Posted July 2, 2011 at 04:05 AM CRAP! I GET THROUGH CAPTCHA AFTER 6 TRIES AND IT FLUMMOXES ME OUT!... They have been taking notes on gripes by the likes of you and me and David on this website for ten years. They will probably eliminate references to the telegraph. Guest Nancy N. Posted July 2, 2011 at 09:37 AM Report Share Posted July 2, 2011 at 09:37 AM Figure much of the FAQ's and OI's will find their way in. Expect p. 343 to get a bruising, and I hope clarification of the effects of signed contracts on R/ASPA and/or Reconsider (for example, see thread "reversal-of-board-of-directors-decision" from a couple of days ago"). David A Foulkes Posted July 2, 2011 at 10:45 AM Report Share Posted July 2, 2011 at 10:45 AM Any hints about what will make it different? We've gotten a few over recent months though nothing I'd say was earth-shattering (which, when you think about it, would require massive energy consumption to effect). Further clarifications, possibly a bit more on electronic meetings and such. All in all, a slightly more weighty tome than ol' # 10, though references to the 700+ pages might not evolve into the 800+ pages this time around. Tim Wynn Posted July 6, 2011 at 03:40 AM Report Share Posted July 6, 2011 at 03:40 AM Any hints about what will make it different? The "10" on the front will be replaced with an "11."Also, with any luck, the term "fill" will be more clearly defined as either a) "serving in a position;" or b.) "appointing someone to serve in a position."

Sean Hunt Posted July 10, 2011 at 06:57 PM Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 at 06:57 PM Will the RONR In Brief also be revised to reflect the new 11th edition? The 2nd edition of RONRIB is set to be released at the same date, I believe. If I'm wrong, it's certainly around that time.
