Guest Danni Posted August 11, 2011 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted August 11, 2011 at 05:21 PM In a non-profit organization, a recommendation to the Board of Trustees within the same organization was sent be addressed. The recommenation was tabled. The organization made a motion to vote for the items in the recommendation. Is the motion and vote valid since the recommendation has not be acted on by the Board of Trustees. Was the motion appropriate?

Assuming that the Board does NOT have exclusive control of such matters, it would be within the authority of the membership to override the action of the board.
