VAVRS Posted November 14, 2011 at 04:14 PM Report Share Posted November 14, 2011 at 04:14 PM At a meeting of a Volunteer Rescue Squad, three people voted who should not have voted. All of the officers were on one ballot: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Captain. All officers with the exception of the Captain received 8 to 10 votes more that their opponent. The Captain won by one (1) vote. Should the entire election be held again or just for the Captain. [on page 416 of RROO 11th edition it states: "if there is evidence that any unidentifiable ballots were cast by person not entitled to vote, and if there is any possibility that such ballots might affect the result, the entire ballot vote is null and void, and a new vote must be taken." (RONR 11th ed. p. 418 l. 34 - p. 419 l. 4)Oh well, I was slower than Mr. Honemann... but that's because I spent more time typing .
