Guest Abel_san Posted November 15, 2011 at 04:33 PM Report Share Posted November 15, 2011 at 04:33 PM Our Genealogy club has a nomination committee and also calls for nominations from the floor. The nomination committee has one qualified member running for office. At the nominations from the floor one member nominated himself and said that he had not signed into the number of meetings required to be qualified. He also said that he had attended the number required and other members said that they had seen him there for the required number of meetings. The membership then voted to allow him to be placed on the ballot. He was approved by the majority of the voting members and there were no objections. The bylaws state that the nominating committee can waive requirements to fill the slate. Was placing him on the ballot legal?
