Guest Gene Posted November 29, 2011 at 02:10 AM Report Share Posted November 29, 2011 at 02:10 AM Are votes made during the debate or discussion activity in order? Our Bylaws and Policies allow online motions, seconds, discussion, and voting. Some members of the Board will join in the discussion and end their portion of the discussion by saying "I vote Yes" or "I vote No" even when the discussion is not complete and the question called.Do these members have to restate their preference after the debate/discussion has ended? Robert B Fish Posted November 29, 2011 at 02:25 AM Report Share Posted November 29, 2011 at 02:25 AM Your question is outside the scope of this forum. Unless your bylaws say otherwise, all meetings must be in-person and in one place. To do otherwise is OK only if your bylaws say so. The new RONR provides specific points that should be considered inyour own org's standing rules for e-meetings. An e-mail meeting is not a meeting of a deliberative assembly, as your post clearly demonstrates.-Bob
