Guest bill thiel Posted December 14, 2011 at 03:54 AM Report Share Posted December 14, 2011 at 03:54 AM Because of members resigning we had a even number of board members. We had a vote for president and it ended up in a tie twice. We do we do??

If more time is needed to reach a decision, the election (while pending) may be postponed to an adjourned meeting (or if this is not feasible, to the next regular meeting if it is within a quarterly interval). The motion to Recess is used for the assembly to take a break, perhaps to cool tempers or to permit informal consultation. The assembly may reopen nominations in the hope of finding a compromise candidate. In the end, however, it comes down to "Keep voting until a candidate receives a majority." One member might abstain, and the others (an even number now) might vote to a tie. So, that element is really not a factor here.
